GTX 1660ti vs GTX 1060: How much faster is the 1660ti for mining?
The 1660ti is better by a margin when compared to the GTX 1060 6GB, and is slightly below the RTX 2060, and essentially equal to the last generation GTX 2070 graphics card.
But those benchmarks are not cryptocurrency mining benchmarks, they are typical gaming benchmarks. The cards are still too new to have a lot of hashing speeds available, but initially they appear to be faster than the GTX 1060 by about 40-50%, and also use less power (aka they are more efficient than the GTX 1060).
NVidia 1660 ti Specifications and Details
The long awaited GTX 1660 Ti uses the next-generation Turing technology – just like the RTX cards. However, the GTX doesn’t have the ray tracing tech (which is useless for a mining GPU). Thus, the 1660 Ti will be cheaper and just as efficient at mining. The 1660 Ti comes with 6 GB of GDDR6 RAM, 1536 CUDA cores, and a 1.8GHz clock speed. Compared to the GTX 1060, performance should be about 50% better, with power efficiency about 40% better.
