Mining rigs fall into 2 main categories: CPU miners and GPU miners. A CPU miner uses the computer’s central processor to do the mining and so a powerful processor will give you more mining power. A GPU miner uses the graphics card for mining, so the central processor really only has to run the operating system and mining software, and requires little processing power. Choosing a power supply is a fairly simple task. In fact, it’s one of the quickest and easiest parts of the build. All you have to do is figure out how much power your GPUs will use and multiply that by the number of GPUs you plan to have (or even smarter, by the max number your motherboard can support).
